Let both grow together until the harvest. At that time I will tell the harvesters: First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles to be burned; then gather the wheat into my barn.
Satoshi Rakic – “Knowledge Shared is Power Multiplied. The moment we stop sharing is the moment we die. Those of you with closed hearts and minds are already dead.”
Thanks to the combination of the Decentralized Knowledge Graph, and Artificial Intelligence technologies, humanity experienced unprecedented prosperity. The release of version 6 of the DKG in 2022 marked a pivotal moment in the history of technological advancement. It was a catalyst that spurred the growth of human-centric AI technologies, transforming the way humanity interacted with the universe.
The evolution of AI technologies led to breakthroughs in fields ranging from medicine to agriculture, from education to governance. The once distant dream of a society deeply integrated with AI was now a reality. The DKG had not just facilitated the growth of AI, it had catalyzed a transformation that would forever change the course of human history. By the year 2050, the DKG had become the backbone of a new global ecosystem, interconnecting AI systems, institutions, and individuals in ways never before possible.
This vast network, now known as “The Core,” ushered in a renaissance in scientific research.
The AI-driven precision medicine revolution led to the development of personalized treatments, effectively targeting cancer, genetic disorders, and other previously incurable diseases. Mental health care saw significant improvements as well, with AI therapists offering tailored support and guidance to patients, reducing the stigma around mental health and increasing access to care. In agriculture, AI-powered farming practices optimized crop yields and minimized resource consumption, leading to a more sustainable and abundant food supply.
Smart vertical farms began to replace traditional monoculture practices, resulting in less deforestation and a reduction in the use of harmful pesticides. As a result, global hunger and malnutrition rates fell dramatically.
The Core also played a crucial role in addressing the climate crisis. New materials and AI-driven energy management systems led to the creation of highly efficient renewable energy sources, such as advanced solar panels and fusion power plants. Carbon capture technologies scaled rapidly, removing vast quantities of greenhouse gases from the atmosphere and helping to stabilize Earth’s climate.
The rise of decentralized governance, enabled by Polkadot led to a fairer distribution of resources and power, helping to reduce social and economic inequality. Education underwent a revolution as well. With AI tutors and adaptive learning platforms, students received personalized, high-quality education tailored to their individual needs and interests. This democratization of education resulted in a highly skilled and creative global workforce, capable of tackling increasingly complex problems. By 2100, humanity had begun it’s early days of exploring the cosmos.
AI-assisted space travel and colonization initiatives were launched to establish sustainable habitats on the Moon, Mars, and beyond. It was a time of great excitement and anticipation, a time when the impossible seemed within reach.
Near after humanity’s first steps into the cosmos, a new life was beginning on Earth. Satoshi Rakic was born into a world on the cusp of a new era, a world that was reaching out to the stars.
The efforts to explore the cosmos were underpinned by a collective spirit of curiosity and shared responsibility, as humanity recognized the importance of preserving Earth and expanding its presence in the universe.
United by The Core and fueled by the incredible advancements in AI, humanity now stood on the cusp of a new frontier. AI solved many of the problems humanity faced at the time but left many questions unanswered. Immortality being one of those eternal questions without an answer. The human body was still subject to the ravages of time, and people were desperate for ways to extend their lifespans. By 2140, most, certainly not all, physical diseases on Earth had been eliminated, and humans began to merge with robotic AI technologies to increase their longevity.
At first, certain organs were completely replaced to prevent decay and disease, if the person could afford the treatment. Many diseases that had plagued humanity for centuries were gone meanwhile the environment was thriving like never before. Although rare, unexplainably some humans contracted unknown unexplained “digital viruses”. Humans adopted even more drastic technologies to extend their lifespans, leading to the creation of a new race of humans called the Kuvuka. “Unmodified” humans were referred to as “Msingi” or “The Lesser Ones.” It became common for babies to be modified in artificial wombs.” in hopes to prevent the digital disease.
At first, only a few people chose to become Kuvukas, but as the technology improved and the benefits became more apparent, more and more people began to follow suit.
For the Kuvukas, life was a never-ending feast of knowledge and experience. They were able to learn and adapt at an incredible rate, and their enhanced bodies allowed them to push the limits of what was thought possible. But for the Msingi, life was not so easy. They were often looked down upon and discriminated against by the Kuvuka, who saw them as inferior. Not all Kuvuka shared this mentality. Many Msingi struggled to keep up with the rapid pace of technological advancement, and found themselves left behind in a world that was moving on without them. As the divide between the Kuvukas and the Msingi grew, tensions began to rise. Some feared that the divide would eventually lead to conflict.
While others hoped that the two sides would eventually find a way to coexist peacefully, the reality was more complex. Despite the interracial conflicts some Kuvuka began to see their extended lifespans not as a gift, but as a burden. They had access to virtually unlimited knowledge and experiences, but without the prospect of an end, these experiences began to lose their meaning.
As a result of this, a few Kuvuka would chose to end their lives. In contrast to the existential struggles of the Kuvukas, the Msingi faced more tangible challenges. The harsh realities of life without AI modification meant that they could not survive in environments that the Kuvukas could easily adapt to. This included the vast expanses of space. Kuvukas were initially the only ones that could leave Earth to populate the stars, as Msingis would die in harsh environments without M-Gear. This stark difference in their capabilities further widened the gap between the two groups, adding another layer of complexity to their coexistence.
In 3112 Satoshi Rakic, a descendant of the Rakics (a special group of Kuvuka who’s aim is to live forever and learn forever), was on his way to his lab with his Daughter, Mila Rakic. Satoshi Rakic was a brilliant scientist.
Renowned for his groundbreaking work in quantum physics and parallel dimensions. He had spent years studying the fabric of the universe and had made many remarkable discoveries, but he had always been drawn to one particular theory: the possibility of connecting to different realities at will in order to gain contact with the “Founding Father” of the Rakics, Branimir The Wise. For years, Satoshi had worked tirelessly on his theories, pouring over complex equations and conducting experiments in his laboratory, but he had never been able to find concrete proof of their validity. That is, until one fateful day when he made an accidental discovery that would change the course of history, or, all histories and futures combined.

Father, do you think our work in the lab has been fruitless
Not at all, my child. Even though we haven't had the breakthrough we've been hoping for, every experiment, every failure, brings us closer to understanding. It's all apart of the process.
But don't you feel the pressure? The council’s demands for progress is only getting stronger and we're still grappling with the basics of time exploration.
Well of course, I do. But pressure can be a catalyst for innovation. It's not easy, but it's necessary. I agree its easy to feel disheartened. We've been at this for years, and we're still so far from our goal. I’ve always told you, the most significant scientific breakthroughs didn't happen overnight. They were the result of years and sometimes decades of relentless pursuit.
Do you ever...... miss her?
Every day... If only we could contact Branimir the wise.
I can see it in your eyes, Father. The love you had for her. It's beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time.
Thank you, Mila. She would have loved to see the progress we've made. She believed in a future where our work could change the world. And I intend to make that future a reality, for her.
I believe in that future too, Father. And I know we can make it happen. Let's do it for her, and for all the people who believe in us.
You are right. We just need to keep pushing forward. There's so much more to discover. And who knows? Maybe today is the day we make that breakthrough we've been waiting for. Let's head to the lab... with renewed determination.
